7 months

Likes:
Eating!  Especially sweet potatoes and bananas and feeding herself rice puffs
Talking - mama, dada, nana, and lots of squeals
Seeing sign language for "up", "milk" and "eat"
Standing
Walking while holding onto your hands, though she can inch herself while holding onto her crib rails
Moving - she never sits still and only stops moving the second before she falls asleep
Pointing and using her index finger for as many things as possible.  Picking up small items?  No problem.
Flapping her arms
Sitting and bouncing
Peeking around the corner to see people
Peek-a-boo

Dislikes:
Getting teeth - it hurts!  We are, however, excited that a tooth finally made an appearance for her 7 month birthday.  The bottom left has cut through and we can see the right one will follow shortly.

Reaching

Tegan reaches for toys all around her, she leans, twists and props herself up with her arms.  Tonight she had a new move - from sitting to stomach - to get a toy that was a little too far away... getting ready to crawl maybe??

The video is a little choppy, not sure why.  And, this was taken after she woke up from what we thought was her going to bed, hence the huge diaper bum (double stuffed cloth diaper).

Just chillin

My favorite part of Mother's Day was Jeremiah pushing Tegan in the stroller with a bunch of flowers in her lap to give me - adorable.  We had a great day with breakfast (pancakes, mom's favorite), sunshine, relaxing and a whole lot of Tegan chattering.  In fact, while Jeremiah was talking to his sister on skype Tegan would interrupt with a loud "dadadada" anytime Jeremiah started talking; guess she wanted to be included in the conversation too!

Busy Saturday

We've had a busy day!  Tegan started the day with a breakfast of sweet potatoes and seems to like them.  Then we went to the hospital to see her pediatrician for her 6 month check-up and vaccines (she is now 16.7  lbs and 26.5 in. and her noggin is still in the high 90's for percentile); we also visited our doctor that delivered Tegan and said hi.  On our way home we stopped by another hospital and visited our new little friend Xavier; Tegan was curious about the new little one but didn't really appreciate when I held him and not her.  The rest of the day Tegan kept up her most recent trick - sticking her tongue out, and spent lots of smiling and laughing, making all sorts of noises and practicing her "dada" on repeat.  And now, after Jeremiah lowered her crib since she's started pulling herself up on the bumpers and sides, she is fast asleep (ok, maybe not fast asleep, since she already woke up less than an hour after she went to bed and needed help getting back to sleep; I blame the shots!).

Pushing up

Tegan is working more and more towards becoming mobile.  When sitting she reaches for toys until she falls over and then will roll to get what she was going for.  She looks for things to grab and pull herself with.  On Tuesday night I went in to check on Tegan who was supposed to be falling asleep.  Instead I was greeted with her pushing herself up to see over her crib bumpers with a big smile on her face.  She's been using her legs a lot since she was born, but that was the first time she'd pushed herself up.  Since then she's been working on crawling, but does more of an inch worm move as she can't figure out how to get up on her legs and arms at the same time.

Nom nom nom

While these pictures are adorable, they don't quite depict the real story with meal times.  As soon as we put that spoon up to her face Tegan closes her lips tight.   More and more, once we get that first bite in she will take it and swallow, though usually only after she gives the most awesome disgusted face we've ever seen.

Standing

Tegan is a big 6 months old now, the official 6 month post is on its way, but for now check out her latest obsession - standing.  Sitting is old news, crawling doesn't interest her, but standing, that's what the cool kids are doing.  When sitting she will search out your hands to pull herself up with and often beams with pride when she gets all the way up.  We stuck this stool in front of her and she used the legs to pull herself up (and for those nervous grandparents - Jeremiah's hand is back there you just can't see it).
