23 weeks

This week our good friends Drew and Stephanie had their baby (congrats!) and makes it all the more real for us that we too will soon have our little one.  Glad we still have quite a bit of time before Baby O makes her appearance though, I have much more to do to get ready!  Jeremiah helped me make these little guys this week, which I will make into a mobile:

Yesterday my aunt threw me a baby shower with lots of family and some nearby friends, we had a great time and I got so many cute things - thanks to all!

21 weeks - Sacramento visit

Sorry for no bump photo this week, we've been on the go since arriving in Portland. We'll make sure to take one this weekend and I'll post as soon as I can. But take my word for it, the bump is getting bigger :)

We are currently visiting Jeremiah's brother and his wife in Sacramento. After the chilly welcome we got in Oregon we have been thankful for the sunny warm weather here.

Our sister-in-law Justine is a fabulous cook and made this adorable cake:

Isn't she amazing?!

20 weeks - half way!

Though both battling some sickness we have been enjoying our 3 day weekend (it's Dragon Boat Festival here).  Saturday Jeremiah felt little one kick!  I feel her at different times of the day now, mostly when I'm sitting or laying down.  We started looking at baby stuff we can buy when we are home and I'm anxious to get our luggage out, both so that we can start packing and to get it out of the nursery (it's a small space and with each of us storing our 3 piece luggage sets in there it takes up quite a bit of room).

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend too!

Note to self: don't wear red in front of the red poster

19 weeks

Big news this week is that I think I've started to feel the baby moving.  I've heard the sensation described by other mom-to-bes as eels slithering, popcorn popping, gas and flutters... I'm going with eels and gas.

I've got lots of sewing projects planned for the summer, and we've started looking at strollers.  I've decided that the stroller I want is not made.  With our traveling lifestyle, we have some specific needs.  We need something smallish, with versatility, the car seat of our choosing will snap into, and that can handle the bumpy roads of Taiwan.  And then, I need to be able to find it in Taiwan or it has to be able to be shipped to here, which not all places will do.  Oh, and I don't want to spend $1,000.  Any suggestions out there?  I have a feeling we'll be strapping our little one to us with a wrap or carrier and going sans stroller a lot of the time here.

2 weeks until we come home!

Every time we go back to the states we think about all the food we want to eat.  I've taken this to a whole new level, already planning that first trip to the grocery store.  Lots of fruits and popsicles rank high on the list, and recently, cinnamon bears.  Not sure what made me think of them, but once they popped into my head I had to have them.

Pregnant at prom?  That was me last night when we chaperoned our school's high school prom.

And that will be the last time I wear that dress for awhile!

In other news, after our doctor's appointment we bought our baby's first gender-appropriate article of clothing - a pink and white top.  Yes folks, we're having a girl!  Looking forward to picking out more clothes and nursery stuff, and of course, thinking up names!
